Glad Tiding 10 of 41

This is a glad tiding of the Prophet Muḥammad in the Book of (Isaiah 9:6-7, Van Dyck Version), and the text of the glad tidings from the Prophet Isaiah is as follows:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

This glad tiding stipulates five matters:
• First: It stipulates the presence of the seal of prophethood on his shoulder, and this was indeed realized as is well-known in his biography.
• Second: This glad tiding indicates that he calls for peace and security in the homelands. This was achieved in the countries conquered by the Prophet Muḥammad, and then those conquered after him by the Caliphs.
• Third: This glad tiding indicates the increase of his government, and this indeed happened, as Islam spread east, west, south, and north.
• Fourth: This glad tiding indicates that he would spread peace, which is the saying “Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allāh be upon you” [Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh]. In addition, this indeed has been realized by him and his nation up to our present day. The Prophet Muḥammad said: “You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not guide you to something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread peace among yourselves.” Moreover, Allāh the Almighty said in the Qur’ān to His Prophet Muḥammad, guiding him to conclude peace treaties between him and his adversaries: “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allāh.” [Al- Anfāl (The Spoils of War), 8:61].
• Fifth: This glad tiding indicates that the message of the Prophet is an eternal message until the Day of Resurrection, and not a temporary message.
As for his saying: (and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God); its meaning is that his name was not given to anyone before him, so it is wonderful. Furthermore, it is derived from ‘Al-Ḥamd’ (praise), which is identical to the derivation of some of the names and attributes of Allāh, which are: Al-Ḥamīd (The Praiseworthy), Al-Maḥmoud (The Most Praised), Al-Ḥamdulillāh (All praise is due to Allāh).
Some Christians argue that his saying: (The everlasting Father) applies to the Messiah, but this is incorrect, because Christians say that the Messiah is the Son of God, and he is not the Father as in the text.
However, the right view is that it applies to Allāh, the Exalted and Almighty, as explained previously.
